Tattoos are permanent: It has been said before and it is still worth repeating – tattoos will occupy a piece of real estate on your body permanently. Sure, you can get a tattoo removed but it is not a simple process nor is it guaranteed to come off permanently. Plus it is a painful and expensive process; hence you are better off thinking about all the implications of having a tattoo before you get it rather than after you do it.
Consider the long-term implications: A tattoo is no doubt fun to have, a way of expressing something that is symbolic to you, sometimes a dedication to someone you feel strongly about among other things. But it is also something that is not temporary and something that you could change your mind about as you grow up. That is why you do need to spend some time about all that the tattoo means to you and what it will continue to mean to you. Also think of the tattoo in physical terms; there are certain parts of your body that will show the signs of aging more than others, which means you really have to think about this aspect too.
